Only high-emitting facilities with 25,000 tons or more of annual CO2 equivalent (CO2e) emissions are shown. Emissions footprints reflect the total CO2e emitted by each facility, not estimated plumes or geographic areas.
The CDC's Environmental Justice Index (EJI), Environmental Burden and Social Vulnerability scores range between 0 (lowest) and 1 (highest) based on their percentile position among all census tracts in the U.S. Zoom to county level to view facilities in Alaska; EJI data not available for Alaska. "Areas of concern" are included for Census tracts with EJI indicators that are in the top quartile nationally.
Emissions totals do not include emissions from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems Onshore Production and Gathering and Boosting segments, as these emissions are reported at the geologic basin level, which may cross state boundaries. Emissions totals also do not include emissions from electric distribution systems, which are reported at the corporate level, and cannot be allocated to individual states. Some reported addresses may not reflect actual facility location.
Data: EPA: Envirofacts; CDC: Environmental Justice Index.
